Our History
Masasi Seminary was founded in 1953 by erstwhile Bishop of Masasi, Trevor Huddleston at Namasakata, near Tunduru in the west of the diocese.
Masasi Seminary was driven by a vision to provide a quality education rooted in Christian values. Initially focused on training future leaders in the Church, the seminary quickly became a beacon of hope and learning in the region.
In the early 1980s, the seminary relocated to the picturesque Rondo Plateau, allowing for expansion and the enhancement of its facilities. This move marked a new chapter in its development, becoming Rondo Junior Seminary and enabling the school to accommodate more students and diversify its educational offerings. Over the years, the seminary has evolved significantly, reflecting the changing needs of society.
In recent years, Rondo has embraced a non-sectarian approach, welcoming boys of all faiths. This shift has enriched the learning environment, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and mutual respect. The school now emphasises academic excellence, personal development, and social responsibility, preparing students to become well-rounded individuals ready to contribute positively to their communities.
Today, Rondo stands as a progressive institution committed to nurturing young minds while honouring its rich heritage, providing a platform for all students to thrive in a diverse and dynamic setting.
